We were rather curious about this whole Thai Boat Noodles craze... and we heard that some people can polish off ten bowls of noodles in one seating! So we decided to find out why.

Of course, to start, the $1 price point got us excited! Who wouldn’t be? For $1, you get a small bowl of noodles. Although the portions are not for big eaters, it’s great for people like us who just want to try a little bit of everything on the menu.

The first thing we had was the classic Mini Boat Noodle Dry ($1) – also known as the Kuai Tiao Ruea.  The rice noodles were accompanied with slices of pork, a meat ball, and a generous helping of crushed peanuts, all doused in a light sweet sauce. The dish reminded me of our local rojak dish but with a slightly lighter and saltier sauce. We gulped down the bowl very quickly!For $1.50, you get noodles and fresh seafood served in a piping hot tom yum soup. The tom yum soup was definitely the main star. It packed a punch and contained all the right notes of a great tom yum soup. Authentic, hot, sour and spicy -it left us wanting more!

And more tom yum soup did we have! We jumped right in and ordered the normal size Ba Mee Tom Yum Ruam– Mit ($13.80).

After eating 2 dainty bowls of noodles, this serving definitely felt very generous! If you order this, you can look forward to lots of yummy goodies. From the yellow bak mee to a good serving of mussels, prawns, mushrooms, a lava egg, and topped with crunchy fried wanton skins. The tom yum soup was as good as the previous bowl and the lava egg just made everything better.

It’s a good idea to get Chicken winglets ($6.80) on the side if you’re each having a small bowl of noodles to share. They’re so crispy, you’ll have no issues finishing it up!

Besides the prices being extremely gentle on our wallets, It was an incredibly fun and fuss-free experience! We recommend bringing your friends down here for a feel-good chomp-session!
